‘People come into your life for a reason or season or a lifetime.’
An apt quote for an apt situation. Though I had resigned from Neelkanth Publishers in June 2020, it is only today that I am able to talk about my experience.
I joined Neelkanth in 2015 as the editor-in-chief. Nothing in the world could prepare me for this life changing experience of five years and five months. I did not just learn about how books are made but I also got a lot of insight into how people are made. I understood that every job comes into your life to help you grow as a person and professional.
As the head of the editorial department I helped in creating the English versions of all kinds of books including ITI and Polytechnic books. I roped in oeople from ITI for solving questions.
I also created the school book division and we also published a lot of books and manuals under schemes like PMKVY. I helped in redesigning the website to help us sell books online, integrating payment gateways and even putting our books on ecommerce sites like Amazon and Flipkart and many more. The profits increased, the number of employees increased along with our faith.
The work was not the only thing I focussed on. With a robust team and an able leader, I began the trend of celebrating birthdays, foundation days, cricket matches and festivals. After all, we spend most of our time in our workplace and work and play go hand-in-hand.
The season of Neelkanth Publishers in my life has been that of learning and growth. It wouldn’t have been possible without the guidance of Mr. Kuldeep Goyal, the owner and MD. A good team mate always helps and Ritu Saxena, the HR Manager, was more than that. She was a friend and a great colleague.
So thank you for this season of learning, growth and loads of love. Some visuals of the era.
