One person says something and the other person reacts to the something that was said. Sound bytes and videos are recorded which are splashed all over the internet. The television channels play the bytes over and over again trying to grab as many eyeballs as they can. The janta or the stupified audience sits watching the table tennis match, little realizing that they are the ball which is being hit from both sides!
Today, India is grappling with not just a global pandemic that has brought the world to its knees but also a precarious situation when it comes to the economy. People are being laid off by companies, many small and big companies are closing or filing in for bankruptcy, inflation is at an all time high amidst the looming uncertainty.
However, despite all these issues, our politicians continue to play their big brother childish games! One politician says something, the other retorts. Then some one else comes into the picture and threatens a third person. Meanwhile, others are busy taking sides. Why should these people bother? They have no dearth of cash or property. Most of their children are well-settled in some posh places around the world all thanks to the tax payers money.
Why should they who are given scripted speeches by their office bearers think about whats happening to this country? After all they don’t mean a word of what they say!
Why should they think about how to tackle recession? Their stomachs are full of subsidies and free food! Today, at this time when they should be announcing relief aids and measures that actually can reach the people, they are busy playing ‘Dangal’.
The stupified people of the country can go on watching this match which is as endless as an Ekta Kapoor soap opera!
